Pomegranate Fizz Mocktail
Pomegranates are great fruits to include in your diet when you’re looking to support sports performance and recovery. Here are just a few of their benefits:
Polyphenols for their anti-inflammatory properties.
Antioxidants for reducing cellular damage and ageing.
Nitrates/Nitrites for improving blood and oxygen flow.
You’ll need:
Pomegranate juice - 60ml (I like to use Pom Wonderful)
Half a lime, cut into wedges
1 Tsp pure maple syrup
5 mint leaves
Fizzy water - 60ml
Directions:
Place pomegranate juice, lime wedges and maple syrup in a tall glass or jug. Muddle gently until all the juice has been pressed out of the lime.
Clap mint leaves together in your hands to release the scent and add to the glass. Give the mint a gentle press a couple of times with the muddler.
Add the fizzy water, then transfer to your serving glass with some ice cubes.
