Pomegranate Fizz Mocktail

Pomegranates are great fruits to include in your diet when you’re looking to support sports performance and recovery. Here are just a few of their benefits:

  • Polyphenols for their anti-inflammatory properties.

  • Antioxidants for reducing cellular damage and ageing.

  • Nitrates/Nitrites for improving blood and oxygen flow.

You’ll need:

  • Pomegranate juice - 60ml (I like to use Pom Wonderful)

  • Half a lime, cut into wedges

  • 1 Tsp pure maple syrup

  • 5 mint leaves

  • Fizzy water - 60ml


  • Place pomegranate juice, lime wedges and maple syrup in a tall glass or jug. Muddle gently until all the juice has been pressed out of the lime.

  • Clap mint leaves together in your hands to release the scent and add to the glass. Give the mint a gentle press a couple of times with the muddler.

  • Add the fizzy water, then transfer to your serving glass with some ice cubes.
